This is the English version of the highly respected German cooking website GekonntGekocht.de, aimed at the Anglo-American cooking community.

The idea behind gekonntgekocht.com is to offer you a taste of Western European cuisine from professionals but achievable in your own kitchen at home. We like to prove that one can create delicious meals by using seasonal produce and explain appropriate techniques to get the best results. We also like to inspire professional cooks who have to create new menus on a regular basis.

We intend to honour classic recipes and aim to convince readers that there is no need to import products from every corner of the world all year round. Buying seasonal groceries from a local market, especially farmers markets, can offer good value for money and food that is locally sourced, tastier, better for you and the environment.

Our chef’s recipes and ideas intend to motivate and encourage you to keep on trying your own ideas. All recipes are explained in a highly comprehensive manner. (If questions are left unanswered, please just ask. The translator is a certified cook, too.) Once you have found a recipe you like just click to send the recipe, shopping list and cooking instructions straight to your email or just print if out directly. How convenient is that?
